YOUR ROLE

The Senior Data Engineer is an integral member of the Value Streams function. This role involves analyzing data to provide actionable insights that support strategic decision-making and drive business performance. The Senior Data Engineer will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to understand their data needs, develop and maintain data models, and create reports and dashboards for BI.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Data Collection & Analysis:

  • Gather and analyze data from various sources to provide insights that support business decision-making.
  • Use statistical techniques and data modeling to identify trends, patterns, and correlations.

Reporting & Visualization:

  • Develop, maintain, and automate reports and dashboards using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
  • Present data insights to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.

Data Management:

  • Ensure data integrity by validating and cleaning data.
  • Maintain and update data models and databases to support ongoing analysis.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Work with stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide tailored insights.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to help stakeholders understand and utilize data reports and dashboards.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to improve data analysis processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data analytics.

SAFe

  • Knowledge of Safe and willingness to take on roles within the framework

 

Participating in Agile ceremonies:

  • Daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Provide updates on their progress
  • Discuss any challenges or blockers
  • Contribute to the team's continuous improvement.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Proven experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related role.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, R, or similar.
    • Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
    • Knowledge of database management and data warehousing concepts.
    • Support Cloud First strategy
    • Knowledge in Azure Data Factory, Azure Datalake Storage, Azure Databricks and model and serve.
    • Enterprise BI in Azure.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics and/or other relevant Azure data solutions
  • Experience with SQL as well as programming language such as Python or Scala for data processing
  • Knowledge of database design and data modeling, especially in connection with cloud technologies and fabric
  • Familiarity with data integration patterns, data lake architectures, and data processing in the cloud
  • Experience using Power BI to visualize and interpret data and facilitate collaboration with business teams
  • Statistical Methods: Understanding of statistical methods and their application in data analysis.
  • Business Acumen: Knowledge of business processes and how data insights can drive business value.
  • Tools & Technologies: Familiarity with relevant tools and technologies for data extraction, analysis, and visualization.

 

Languages: Fluent in English & German (written and spoken)

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, computer science, information technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Data Analyst, Google Data Analytics Certificate) is a plus.
