Strategic Controller (inc. M&A and Ventures)

The Strategic Controller (inc. M&A and Ventures) is critical in ensuring that Strategic Investments and Roadmaps, M&A and venture activities deliver expected financial and strategic outcomes, providing both oversight and strategic input throughout the transaction lifecycle—from target identification and due diligence to deal execution and post-merger integration.

What will your responsibilities look like?

•       Strategic Controlling including performance management and financial coordination of Strategic Initiatives, Evaluations on ROI/target adherence of strategic investments made, i.e. ensuring the continuous materialization of value creation sought for at time of investment in strategic initiatives
•        Monitor and analyze financial trends, synergies, financial effectiveness and efficiency measures resulting from strategic initiatives, M&A and venture activities, as well as the outlining of recommendations to senior leadership on value creating strategic investments and disinvestments.
•        Provide decision templates and recommendations for major business decisions, including investments, divestitures, and capital allocation
•        Support transformation projects, such as digitalization, process automation, and reporting optimization, to maintain best-in-class financial performance management practices
•        Steer and align the financial perspective of the development and execution of the company’s Strategic Roadmap, M&A and venture investment strategy.
•       Manage and execute financial due diligence for potential acquisitions and venture investments, including analyzing target company financials and identifying risks.
•        Interface to M&A Team regarding maintenance and review of financial models, taking the strategic controlling perspective on valuation parameters and transaction structures to support successful negotiations outcomes and strategic decision-making
•        Lead the financial integration of acquired companies into the Nemetschek Group performance management structures, ensuring smooth consolidation of financial data, performance management systems, and controls post-acquisition.
•       Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (finance, legal, tax, IT, operations) and external advisors to facilitate seamless transaction execution and integration.
• Develop KPIs to measure the performance of VCs and all other strategic investments   

What do we expect from you?

• University degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, CFA, or equivalent) preferred
• Several years of experience in controlling, finance, or mergers & acquisition / venture investment and strategy roles, ideally within the software or technology sector and in an international context
• Proven track record in relevant environments showcasing successful steering through Strategic Controlling and successful financial management of a high-paced mergers and acquisitions and venture investment roadmap.
• Strong expertise in financial modeling, valuation techniques, due diligence processes.
• Excellent analytical, conceptual, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced, global environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking.
• Advanced proficiency in controlling and reporting tools
