Senior Accountant (f/m/d)

We are seeking a Senior Accountant (f/m/d) to join our Accounting Team in Munich. As part of an international and collaborative team, you will cover a broad range of accounting topics and provide technical guidance to colleagues within the Nemetschek Group, reporting to the Director Accounting Operations & Purchase-to-Pay.

Working model: If you live close to our Munich office, we can offer a hybrid contract with two office days per week. However, we are also open to full remote working within Germany if your commuting time exceeds one hour.

Key responsibilities within this role:

Accounting & Reporting (primary focus)

• Preparation of monthly IFRS reporting (e.g. P&L, balance sheet, reporting packages, variance analysis) including day-to-day accounting processes and support of audit requests
• Preparation of annual statutory financial statements (HGB), including reconciliation from IFRS to HGB (e.g. P&L, balance sheet, notes) and handling of auditor queries
• Subject matter expertise in key accounting areas (e.g. accruals, fixed assets, financial assets) including responsibility for their accounting and reporting under IFRS and HGB
• Preparation, review, and submission of VAT return within the VAT group

Processes & Systems

• Optimization and (partial) ownership of accounting processes (e.g. accounts payable, travel expenses)
• Handling and further development of the Internal Control System (ICS), including implementation of central requirements, recommendation of process and control adjustments, and ensuring appropriate controls for new or modified processes
• Documentation of accounting processes within the area of responsibility to ensure compliance and enable handover to qualified third parties
• ERP expertise with a focus on accounting processes, including active involvement in system implementations, migrations, and accounting-related system enhancements (e.g. ERP, travel expense, treasury systems)
• Technical guidance and support for accountants within the organization

What you’ll bring:

• Strong professional accounting experience with a focus on IFRS reporting and solid knowledge of HGB accounting, supported by relevant education or equivalent practical expertise
• Good working knowledge of European VAT and basic understanding of international tax matters
• Experience with accounting software (mandatory), ideally with systems such as NetSuite or Microsoft Dynamics 365
• Experience in working with and improving accounting processes
• Willingness to embrace and support transformation initiatives, including continuous improvement of accounting processes and collaboration across the group
• Business fluency in German and English (both required), with the ability to communicate effectively in a professional environment
