The Staff Engineer is responsible for architecting, developing, and scaling secure, performant, and resilient SaaS platform solutions for Studio customers; this role provides technical leadership in the design, implementation, and operation of these solutions while collaborating with Architecture, InfoSec, DevOps, and Product Management to deliver the product vision through a team of engineers.

 

About the Role: 

  • Performs all task types (architecture, coding, research, and decision) on known and unknown technologies and projects, features, and platforms in a way that quickly, efficiently, and effectively arrives at a solution that correctly balances optimal results with timely results according to the needs of the project.
  • Mentors and provides technical guidance to less senior developers working on his/her project to enable them to effectively arrive at solutions which correctly balances optimal results with timely results according to the needs of the project. 
  • Ramps up on new complex problems and code bases to the point of significant project contribution very fast.
  • Is the go-to expert for complex areas of our systems.
  • Has a deep understanding of the technology used to develop our products.
  • Expertly works with and helps any team they are on to more effectively work with Product Management and other stakeholders to refine loosely defined requirements into robust demonstrable applications.

 

About You: 

  • 15+ years of industry experience developing highly available backend services.
  • 10+ years building applications running in the cloud via AWS.
  • 5+ years leading a team of developers in progressively larger projects. Preference given to individuals with experience managing direct reports.
  • Experience serving as the technical lead on multi-year projects, breaking work down into manageable milestones and driving them to completion.
  • Recent development experience in C# (.NET Framework and/or .NET Core)
  • Recent demonstrable experience with Golang.
  • Solid knowledge of microservice architecture, containerization, and container orchestration.
  • Strong experience architecting and building cloud-native solutions leveraging the AWS platform.
  • Must possess a solid understanding of relational SQL databases, preferably Postgres or equivalent.
  • Solid understanding of the intricacies of MS Entity Framework.
  • Must possess a solid understanding of NoSQL databases, such as AWS DynamoDB or MongoDB.
  • Experience working in a fully automated CI/CD environment, including Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar).
  • A track record of partnering with business and technology team members, to understand requirements and translate them into value-add technology solutions.
  • Willingness to learn and expand skills and repertoire.
  • A positive mindset, team-oriented, results driven, and organized.
  • Experience mentoring other team members.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are important.

Base pay offered will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations. Base pay is one part of Bluebeam’s Total Rewards program, which seeks to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable commission plan, while most non-sales position are eligible for a bonus under the terms of an applicable bonus plan. The base pay range for this position is: $153,800 - $211,400
