The Senior Software Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Bluebeam's Cloud Platform. The role will work heavily with the platform engineering team and is expected to have expert-level knowledge and a demonstrated track record in building integrations of end-to-end solutions and customer-facing products and technologies.

 

What you'll do: 

  • Architect enterprise-class, highly scalable, high throughput, fault-tolerant cloud architectures to support large user bases
  • Coordinate design choices across departments to ensure departmental design direction is compatible with designs implemented in other departments.
  • Work closely with DevOps to ensure the build architecture and continuous integration environment are scalable and provide a streamlined experience.
  • Suggest and evangelize the new capabilities using the latest technologies with proven prototypes.
  • Define, assist with, and coordinate software design and architecture across Bluebeam product lines, ensuring clean, performant designs that will scale.
  • Understand and communicate our existing architecture and future architectural vision to developers and leadership through well-maintained design documentation, training, and presentations.
  • Provide positive influence and direction in a large multi-national team in an inclusive, collaborative manner, gaining the trust of engineering managers, engineering leads, developers, project management, and the executive team.

What we need from you: 

  • 5 + years in an architect role, ideally architecting enterprise-class, highly scalable, fault-tolerant cloud architectures successfully deployed and maintained in production with a large user base.
  • 10+ years of experience developing enterprise-scale applications
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in creating cloud applications using serverless technologies
  • Ability to solve complex problems in an organized way
  • Expert-level written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and improve complex systems
  • Ability to design and build APIs and microservices
  • Comfortable leading without authority - people rally around you to solve problems
  • Natural consensus builder
  • Ability to manage multiple projects without compromising results
  • Indomitable work ethic /desire to produce great solutions
  • Exhibits a passion for learning, seeking feedback and persistence
  • AWS infrastructure and Lambda functions

Base pay offered will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations. Base pay is one part of Bluebeam's Total Rewards program, which seeks to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable commission plan, while most non-sales position are eligible for a bonus under the terms of an applicable bonus plan. Base salary range for this position is $177,600 - $243,975
